You can renew or change a paid Servix API plan while it is active. The result depends on the current daily request limit, the purchased limit, and the moment payment is successfully completed. Checkout shows the expected change before you pay; the final entitlement uses the product name, price, daily limit, and duration saved with your order.
Same daily limit: renewal
When both plans have the same requests-per-day limit, the purchased duration is added to the current expiration. Nothing is converted and the current daily usage counter continues. For example, if a 2,000-request plan has 50 days left, buying the same limit for 3 months adds the purchased plan's configured days after those 50 days; a 6-month purchase works the same way.
Higher daily limit: immediate upgrade
An upgrade takes effect as soon as payment completes. The unused time on the active plan is converted by request capacity, then the newly purchased duration is added. Conversion uses seconds and rounds only the final fractional second upward, so a customer never loses more than one second to rounding.
Example: 50 exact days remaining at 2,000 requests per day contain the same request-time value as 10 days at 10,000 requests per day. Buying 10,000 requests per day for 3 months therefore results in the purchased duration plus 10 converted days from payment completion; a 6-month purchase adds its configured duration instead. Usage already recorded today is retained.
Lower daily limit: scheduled downgrade
A downgrade does not remove access already paid for. The current higher limit remains active until its existing expiration. The lower limit then starts automatically and runs for the full purchased duration. At activation, the daily usage counter resets so usage under the old higher limit cannot immediately block the new plan.
Example: with 50 days left at 10,000 requests per day, buying 2,000 requests per day for 3 months keeps the 10,000 limit for those 50 days. The 2,000-request plan begins at that expiration and ends after its configured purchased days.
Other supported situations
- An expired paid plan, or an account currently on Free Starter, starts the purchased plan at successful payment and receives its full duration.
- Any same-limit 3-month or 6-month combination is a renewal.
- Any move to a higher daily limit is an immediate upgrade, regardless of purchased duration.
- Any move to a lower daily limit is a scheduled downgrade, regardless of purchased duration.
- If an open or review-required order already exists, another plan order cannot be created.
- If a downgrade is already scheduled, another plan purchase is blocked until that scheduled plan starts.
Payments, product edits, and duplicate callbacks
Activation is based on successful payment, not simply opening checkout. Product entitlement fields are copied into the order, so a later admin edit does not change what that order grants. Payment callbacks and reconciliation are idempotent: the entitlement is applied once even if the completion event is delivered again.
Frequently asked questions
Does an upgrade reset today's usage?
No. It raises the daily limit immediately and retains today's recorded usage.
Can I queue more than one downgrade?
No. Wait for the scheduled change to start before buying another plan.
Can the checkout estimate change?
The preview is calculated from the subscription state at checkout. The final effective and expiration times are calculated when payment completes, because remaining time continues to pass while an order is unpaid.
Where can I see a scheduled plan?
Your profile shows the next daily limit, start time, resulting expiration, and source order. Administrators see the same schedule in the user details view.
